“Super Nova” Dedication at the Campus Theatre

Denton Community Theatre, the managing company for the Campus Theatre, is proud to announce the dedication of the first “Super Nova” sidewalk star on November 29, 2011 at noon.  Light refreshments will be served to celebrate the event.  This large granite marker represents a $20,000 donation by PointBank to the historic site, ensuring that the venue can continue to serve as Denton’s premier performing arts facility.  PointBank and its president, Ray David, have generously sponsored the arts in many ways over the years and have long been known for a community-minded approach to business.  PointBank is the oldest bank in Denton County and one of the oldest banks in Texas – charted in 1892 as Pilot Point National Bank.  The bank participates in many charitable events benefiting non-profit organizations in Denton County.

.  “We could not be more thrilled about this incredibly generous commitment to the community.  The Campus Theatre renovation was done to benefit everyone in Denton, and has become one of the most well used structures in the city.  It is wonderful that PointBank realizes the importance of this Historical Landmark” said Mike Barrow,  Denton Community Theatre’s Managing Director.  Margaret Chalfont, Executive Director of The Greater Denton Arts Council stated, “The Greater Denton Arts Council salutes Ray David and PointBank for purchasing the first "Super Nova" on the Campus Theatre Walk of Fame. The Campus Theatre is a Denton treasure that is dear to the hearts of our citizens. This generous gift helps to ensure that needed maintenance for the historical structure will continue. Thank you Point Bank for your continued support of the arts.”
