Family Low-Income Guidelines
A household income allowance is needed from the applicant. This number is equated by multiplying $10,000 by each household dependent, including adults. For example, in order for a member of a family of 4 to be eligible for a needs-based scholarship, the family income must be less than $40,000/year (4 members X $10,000 each).
Exceptions
Each situation will be personally considered. If you feel you need financial assistance and do not fit the above criteria, please submit a letter explaining your circumstances and it will be considered by the Education Director and Managing Director of the Denton Community Theatre.

Our aim is to maximize the student's experience at the Denton Community Theatre's Theatre School. We hope to provide students with the best opportunity to succeed with us and in all their future artistic and educational endeavors.
Summer and Fall 2009, Winter, Spring, and Summer 2010 Scholarship and Financial Aid Application
The Denton Community Theatre's Theatre School offers needs-based scholarships (both full and partial) to students 18 years and younger who qualify. To qualify for scholarships you must meet the above family income guidelines.
All items listed below must be submitted for a student to be considered for a scholarship.
-Scholarship and Financial Aid Application
-Family income earners' most recent federal income tax forms
-Resume of student's current and past performance experience
-3 letters of reference from teachers, coaches, etc.
-Letter from prospective student explaining why he or she would like to participate in the Theatre School and what he or she hopes to gain from the experience.
-Completion of Interview once application is submitted. Must contact Mildred A. Peveto to schedule an interview appointment

Expectations for Scholarship Students
The Denton Community Theatre's Theatre School has listed below its expectations for the students
who are granted scholarships. Please familiarize yourself with them.
1. Requirements:
All required information must be received at the Campus Theatre 2 WEEKS prior
to start of session for which the student is applying.
2. Attendance:
Attendance is mandatory to maintain an active scholarship. Due to the concentrated
nature of each session, attendance is extremely important to maintain classroom continuity
and group/team efforts. If a student has 2 unexcused absences, the student will be dismissed
and the scholarship will be revoked.
3. Conduct:
Students are asked to behave responsibly and respectfully towards themselves, others and others property.
Upon enrollment in each session, a Parent/Guardian Release Form must be read, signed, and returned.
As with any student, unacceptable behavior or endangering the safety of themselves or others
will result in dismissal from the school and revocation of the scholarship.
The undersigned has read this form, fully understands it and agrees to
the rules of the Denton Community Theater's Theatre School.
