Creativity Camp - Ages 4-6

3 Weeks of Creative Summer Fun!!

August 2-5          Monday - Thursday    9:00am to 1:00 pm

The student's (age 4-6) innate talents and creative imagination will be developed through various theatre games, daily crafts built around a theme of CARTOON MANIA and other fun filled activities. The summer camps are different from our curriculum semester studies. They are designed to playfully entertain and enlighten the young artist during his/her summer vacation by emphasizing the FUN in all the activities. Yet parents may be assured that vocal clarity, stage movement, and stage presence will be a continued goal from our DCTTS' semester studies.

Pre-Teen ACTING Camp - Ages 7-9

August 2-5       Monday - Thursday  9:30am to 2:30pm

THE PLAY'S THE THING will become the lesson learned by the students of our Acting Camps this summer.

Students (ages 7-9) will find that their strength as a performer finds its basis in the merit and quality of a well

developed story of dimensional characters. Working 4 hours a day for only 5 days, these young performers

will produce a short one-act play for their family and friends. The students involved will receive

training in the elementarytechniques of characterization, finding that “memorization is not characterization”;

but rather, that becoming the character for brief moments in time bringsboth belief for

oneself and the audience. Thus, the young performer will be transformed into a

young artist as they learn the magical truth of theatre that the “play's the thing”.
